If you select a career for which you have no aptitude, you will not be very good at it.

If you select a career in which you have no interest, your workday will seem very, very long.

Do what you enjoy ... as your job

CareerDirectory.org is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging young adults to discover their personal intersection of aptitude and interest - to find their "best-fit" careers, and then select the "best-fit" education resources to train them for that career. Following you will find resources designed to help you achieve both objectives.

The intersection of aptitude and interest:

It sounds simple: Do what you enjoy ... as your job. But sometimes, we all need a little help breaking that “simple” task down into actionable steps.

To help you find your best-fit career, CareerDirectory.org presents a library of online resources developed and tested by education professionals to walk you through a logical process of self-discovery:

got skillz?

Hosted by CareerDirectory.org, got skillz?  is a joint project among local skilled trades, technical training providers and high school guidance counselors with a mission of helping non-college-bound students find the "best-fit" career-training program for their "best-fit" career path.

The need …

Talented high school graduates are taking low-paying, unskilled jobs while our skilled trades are having difficulty finding trained workers to fill higher-paying skilled roles in our economy.

High school guidance counselors stand ready to help their students explore technical careers, but it’s difficult to navigate through a fragmented ecosystem of community colleges and technical training providers.

The solution …

In partnership with local skilled trades and CTE providers, got skillz?  is a collection of local-market CTE directories – searchable databases of all the prominent career-training programs offered in their respective communities.

CareerDirectory.org has compiled these directories and is distributing them to the high school guidance counselors at all the public high schools in each community.

For students and guidance counselors …

Scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the Excel icon for your state and region and find the “best-fit” career-training program that will prepare you (or your student) for success in a skilled job.

Note: Each directory contains hundreds of rows of data. Filter the rows to narrow your selection before attempting to print!

For skilled trades and CTE providers …

In the words of Jerry Maguire, “Help ME help YOU!”

A not-for-profit organization, CareerDirectory.org relies upon the financial support of local CTE providers and skilled trades to fund the staff time and cost required to produce and distribute our got skillz? directories.

If our mission brings value to your business, please consider partnering with us by joining as a got skillz?  sponsor for your local market. Adding your name to the list of sponsors these students will see when navigating our directories can provide valuable brand awareness for a future student or employee.

To learn more about becoming a got skillz?  sponsor, reach out to us using the contact information shown at the bottom of this page … or simply send a check payable to CareerDirectory.org to the address shown there.
